Children in Worship

at St. Mark

At St. Mark, we believe children are an essential part of our worshiping community. We are committed to helping them grow in faith through participation, experience, and love.

Worship Bags

Worship bags are available just outside the sanctuary in the Narthex corner. These bags include quiet activities to help children engage during the service. We encourage children to sit with their families and find a spot up front where they can see and feel included.

Nursery Care

Nursery Care is available for children from birth through entering kindergarten. Join us in the Family Life Center, Room 106, every Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  Younger children in Nursery Care will also be brought into the sanctuary for Time with Young Disciples as they are able.

Time With Young Disciples

Each Sunday (except the first Sunday of the month), children are invited to the front of the sanctuary during worship for Time With Young Disciples—a short, child-focused message led by one of our pastors. Children in Nursery Care will be brought into the sanctuary to participate as well.

Children learn by watching others, and worship is a practice that grows over time. As they learn, the St. Mark congregation lovingly supports them each step of the way.

Transitional Worship

We understand that children may need to move and wiggle—it’s part of learning! To support this, we offer Transitional Worship for elementary-aged children each Sunday after Time With Young Disciples.

If your child would like to participate:

Sit together for the beginning of worship.

After Time With Young Disciples, meet your child just outside the sanctuary to sign them in.

Children will head to the Library (located off the Hospitality Center) for a kid-friendly sermon by Pastor Ann Marie, hands-on activities, and group discussion.

They’ll return to the sanctuary in time for the final hymn or song.

This space allows children to explore the message in a meaningful and age-appropriate way.

We’re Glad You’re Here

Whether your child is full of questions, a little wiggly, or eager to listen, we welcome them just as they are. At St. Mark, we’re here to walk with your family as you grow in worship, community, and faith—together.
