Habitat for Humanity Kerr County is currently working across the community to support local families through both disaster recovery efforts and affordable homeownership opportunities.

In response to the flooding last July, Habitat is completing 40 critical home repairs to help families safely remain in their homes. Habitat is also building the first 10 homes in their new Mariposa community for flood-impacted families who are unable to rebuild on their original properties.

These disaster recovery projects represent an expansion of Habitat’s traditional affordable housing ministry, responding to urgent community needs created by the flood. Three new homes are currently under construction, and homeowner recruitment is underway.
