ST. MARK YOUTH MINISTRY

Igniting a Passion for Christ

"His Word burns like a fire in my heart...

I cannot hold it in"
Jeremiah 20:9

We encourage our youth to develop an increasingly intimate and life-changing walk with Jesus Christ, seeking to reflect who Christ is in daily thought, word, and deed.   We rejoice in our Lord with joy and encouragement through community, worship, learning and service.  Check out this month's youth calendar.

In addition, our Youth Ministry offers:

Weekly Sunday School classes from 10:10-11:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center. Middle school students (grades 6-8) meet in Room 103; high school students (grades 9-12) meet in Room 102.

Weekly Youth Group gatherings from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. All youth gather for one hour of activities – both crazy and chill – then, to meet different developmental needs, middle and high school youth meet in separate discussion groups. Every 3rd Sunday, our youth play intergenerational team games in place of Youth Group.

Opportunities for youth to participate in our joyous contemporary and traditional worship services as acolytes, liturgists, musicians, technicians, ushers, etc. In addition, our youth lead and/or offer testimony at several worship services during the year.

Special events throughout the year such as parties to celebrate holidays, outdoor activities and group exploration of cultural events.

Service opportunities in our church, our community, and the larger world. Each year, our youth typically:

    - enliven intergenerational teams for fundraisers like Relay for Life and CROP walks.

    - organize and carry out fundraisers for St. Mark youth activities

    - help with St. Mark programs like Vacation Bible School.

    - serve at local organizations like Hill Country Daily Bread and Meadowlands.

    - work through programs like Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

    - relish a mission trip involving both service and relational ministry.

Annual retreats to deepen our faith in the midst of Christian community, creative fun and the glory of God’s handiwork.

We communicate via email, Facebook, and texting. To receive our weekly emails, please get your email address to our office administrator. The monthly church newsletter includes youth news, and bulletin boards in the hallway outside of the sanctuary and in each youth room feature notices and photographs.

We are always open to new ideas and welcome all participants and volunteers. Please join us!

"O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."
