The mission ministry of St. Mark seeks to encourage and facilitate the efforts of the congregation
in spreading the gospel of jesus Christ and extending the hand of justice, mercy and
compassion in his name throughout the world.

Everyone at St. Mark is encouraged to have a “mission” - an opportunity to reach out and become the hands and feet of Christ. Efforts range from local to international and include consistent prayer, sharing of resources and direct involvement.

Local efforts include support for Hill Country Daily Bread, WE CAN mentoring program, Hill Country Family Services, scholarships for St. Mark Early Learning Center, Meadowland, Hill Country Mission for Health, local nursing home and assisted living ministries, Compassion in Action and the Kendall County Women’s Shelter.

Regional efforts include support for Austin Seminary, Schreiner University, Pan American School, John Knox Ranch, Grace House, the VA project in Kerrville and Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services.

Internationally, we support mission efforts in Kenya, Congo, Guatemala, Mexico, and India. Mission trips for youth, families and adults are offered. Each year, we provide Christmas gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

St. Mark also supports the mission efforts of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and Mission Presbytery.

Four special offerings of the PC(USA) are received each year. These include: One Great Hour of Sharing, Pentecost, Peacemaking and the Christmas Joy Offering. St. Mark continues to increase its giving each year.
