Pastor
John Watson
was installed as
the sixth pastor of St Mark Presbyterian Church by Mission Presbytery on April
21, 2002. He graduated from Biola
College
and Talbot Seminary. He was ordained on August 31, 1975 in the Los Ranchos
Presbytery in Orange
County. John served in four Presbyterian churches in
California
before coming to the Lone
Star State. Barbara and John have three children and five grandchildren. John has served
as director of Christian education, adult education pastor, missions pastor, and
senior pastor before coming to St Mark. His ministry at St. Mark mainly involves
preaching, leading, and caring. John loves reading and writing, engaging in
intellectual discourse over coffee, working with his hands, and most of all,
being with his family.

Ryan
Nielsen Ryan has completed two
master’s programs (MDiv Degree, Fuller Seminary,
Pasadena

,; and an M.A., Youth and Family
Ministry, Denver Seminary,
Denver

Colorado
). He is currently working on his
doctorate in youth and family ministry. Ryan’s
experience in youth ministry includes working with youth both nationally and
internationally, most recently at Irvine Presbyterian Church,
Irvine
,
California
. He is extremely capable in small
group development; teaching; leading, instruction-giving; writing and developing
curriculum; creative programming, game nights, new and creative events.

DIRECTOR
OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Ann
Hausheer was
commissioned as Director of Christian Education in August of 2004.
Ann is certainly no stranger to St. Mark as she, her husband, Fred, and
their family have been active members of the church since 1995.
She has served as Elder for Christian Education; Coordinator for Youth
Confirmation Class and
Vacation
Bible
School
; DISCIPLE Facilitator since 1997; and facilitator and leader of various adult,
children, and youth Sunday School programs. In addition to earning her
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Ann’s graduate level classroom training
includes Polity and Program for Presbyterian Church Educators; Group Process and
Leadership Skills; Old Testament I; and Proverbs, Wisdom and Christian
Education. Ann attends continuing educational conferences on topics such as
small group leadership; children and adult spiritual formation; and family
systems theory.
ELC Director
Cheryl
Hamner
was selected as
director of the Early
Learning
Center
in May of 1996. From a very early
age, Cheryl felt God leading to work with children and families within the
church. Cheryl graduated from
Auburn
University
focusing on families and child development.
She has been the founding director of two child development centers:
The Christian Child Development Center of the First Presbyterian Church
of Valparaiso, Florida, and the ELC of St. Mark.
Between these two terms, Cheryl lived in California with her family,
worked with PTA and Head Start, served as a member of the school board, the
regional-occupational-training board of directors, and the city economic
advisory committee. Cheryl has
enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher/director, Women in the Church president,
and children’s advocate. A new experience is now beginning, that of a doting
grandparent!

Phil
Lambert
has
been involved in church music since age sixteen and has dedicated his life to
serving churches in
Florida, California, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. He most recently served at
Cason
United
Methodist
Church
in
Delray Beach, Florida. Phil is an accomplished musician,
director, and composer who brings the highest degree of professionalism to every
worship service. He is an ordained
minister and those under his direction say they grow musically as well as
spiritually. Phil is married to a
professional musician and they live in San Antonio.
Contemporary
Worship Team Leader
Derek Baker
joins the staff at St. Mark as the Contemporary Worship Team Leader.
Derek comes from St. Andrew Lutheran Church in
San Antonio
where he has led Paradise Found Praise Team.
Derek seeks to expand opportunities with a Christ-oriented church in
growing a contemporary praise and worship service.
As owner and general manager of Guitar School of San Antonio he gives
private and class lessons in guitar, reading music, and applied theory.
Derek teaches guitar at
St. John’s
Lutheran here in Boerne and also offers consultation for their Praise Team.

Robyn Smith
was born
and raised in Texas
and has made Boerne her home for the last 20 years.
She attended Southwest
Texas
State
University
with majoring in Computer Information Systems.
Robyn has extensive computer knowledge and a strong background in
executive management skills. Robyn
is married and her son attends Tarleton State University. She and her family are
active members of the First
Baptist
Church
in Boerne. Robyn loves to read, swim, and spend time with her family!

Jessika Goad
has lived in San Antonio
for21 years and has been married to her husband Trey for 12 years.
Son, Brandon, attends Curington
Elementary School, while daughter, Emily, is attending St. Mark ELC.
Having just moved to Boerne, she’s excited to call Boerne “home.”
Jessika has been a bookkeeper for her husband’s business for the last
12 years and has managed her homeowners’ association, where she previously
lived, for the past 3 years. Jessika
enjoys teaching Sunday School and being an active member of St. Mark and also enjoys
reading, playing tennis, and being together with her family.
Sexton
Wendyl
Leslie
has been married over 37 years and proud grandfather of six, Wendyl is enjoying
his semi-retirement publishing his weekly Christian leadership newsletter “The
Christian Beacon.” With over
15,000 members, his website is the culmination of 30 years in the corporate
arena, as well as an elder, deacon, educational director, and teacher with the Church
of Christ. A graduate of
Southeastern
State
University
with 12 hours towards his MBA, Wendyl is presently an associate with The Full
Armor Group, a Christian-based management firm in San Antonio.
